CFMOTO at Romaniacs 2026 — highlights

Mario Román Serrano took the CFMOTO 450MT to the top of the Red Bull Romaniacs 2026 with victory in the Adventure Ultimate class, achieving a historic result for the CFMOTO in one of the most demanding off-road motorcycle races in the world.

The success extended to the three Adventure categories. In addition to Román's victory in Ultimate, Rene Columna won the Adventure Core title and Chinese rider He Guishu won the Adventure Lite class.

Red Bull Romaniacs 2026 took place between July 28 and August 1, in the region of Sibiu, Romania. From the urban prologue to the four off-road days in the Southern Carpathians, the race tested the endurance, adaptation to the terrain and decision-making capacity of pilots and machines.

CFMOTO participated for the second year as one of the main sponsors and brought together almost 40 riders from 15 countries in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. The 450MT was the most used CFMOTO model, with the 800MT-X and 1000MT-X reinforcing the presence of the MT family.

The new 1000MT-X stood out for the power and torque of its one-liter engine, its adventure geometry and its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels. However, it was the 450MT that led Román's title win, demonstrating a potential that goes beyond the technical sheet.

Román brought years of experience in enduro and previous podiums in the Romaniacs to the race. The Adventure Ultimate class presented him with a new challenge at the controls of the 450MT. Before the race, the CFMOTO ambassador shared his experience in a training session with the rest of the participants.

The first signs were immediate: Román found his rhythm in the urban prologue and led the Adventure Ultimate class. The race then moved on to the Minas Gerais scenery and the demanding mountain routes that characterize the Romaniacs.

«The 450MT worked very well», stated Román after the first day off-road. The 450MT's ease of driving, versatility on different terrains and wheel configuration were put to the test on climbs, obstacles and changes of direction, maintaining the rider's confidence as fatigue increased.

The competition bike started from the CFMOTO 450MT, prepared for the demands of the race. The production model already offers long-travel KYB suspension, good ground clearance and 21-inch wheels at the front and 18 at the rear. These elements helped to choose trajectories, overcome obstacles and continue moving forward.

The set included components intended for competition. In units equipped with a competition Akrapovič exhaust, the integral construction in high quality titanium alloys reduced weight, improved response throughout the rev range and increased power and torque. The design of the tip surface also contributed to resistance in demanding conditions.

In the remaining days, Román's challenge was to repeat the right decisions, manage the pressure and attack when the terrain allowed. He finished 14 minutes and 40 seconds ahead of Pol Tarrés, winning the Adventure Ultimate crown.

In addition to the three victories, Chris Power finished third in the Adventure Core and the CFMOTO riders occupied every spot on the Adventure Lite podium. Chinese riders also participated in the Core and Lite classes.

Román thanked him for the support and messages that motivated him during the difficult days of competition, stating that he had done his best throughout the week. Rene Columna declared himself happy with the bike, the team and its performance. He Guishu highlighted the honor of competing internationally after winning the CFMOTO qualification.

For CFMOTO, the race represented more than the final classification. Rocks, roots, fatigue, navigation and teamwork required durability, control and confidence. The MT range was tested in one of the most demanding adventure environments, continuing the learning gained in Moto2, Moto3 and CFMOTO MT CHALLENGE.
